What is Caroat?

Caroat helps people check a UK car before they buy or keep it. The site is registration first. You type a plate, open a permanent vehicle page, and see official MOT and tax status at no charge. Paid history is labelled as premium and is never mixed in as if it were free. Guides sit beside the tools, so the same facts can be read in plain English.

What is in the £6.99 premium report?

The Caroat premium report is a one-off paid history pack for one UK vehicle. It is not a subscription. Free MOT and tax stay free on Caroat. The paid report is for commercial risk and ownership facts that official status pages do not show. It checks whether a lender still has a claim on the car, using the UK finance register. It shows write-off category, date of loss, insurer and claim number from the insurance loss register. It shows whether a stolen marker is held. It lists previous keepers, V5C issues and every plate change on file. It flags imported, exported and scrapped markers. It reviews MOT mileage in date order and warns when a reading falls. It shows VIN and identity details so the car and the paperwork can be compared. It includes a market value guide.

A paid report is an on-screen HTML report, kept for one year. It is not a PDF. Two reports cost £9.99. The second check can be used on any registration within 12 months. See current offers.

What stays free?

MOT status, MOT history and tax or SORN stay free. Those facts come from official UK sources. Caroat does not put them behind the £6.99 paywall. Start on the free checks page or enter a registration on the homepage.

How much does a Caroat report cost?

One premium report is £6.99. You pay once. There is no subscription. The two-report bundle is £9.99. Pay on the premium history check page. If you lose the report, use the help page with the email address you paid with. Reports stay available for one year.

Which records does Caroat use?

Free status uses DVLA and DVSA records. The premium pack adds the UK finance register, the insurance loss register (MIAFTR), stolen marker records, keeper and plate history, and a market value guide. Caroat reports what those sources hold. It does not invent a missing fact. A blank field means nothing came back, not a clear result.

Is this a real vehicle lookup?

No. The report above is a sample. The checks, labels and layout match a paid Caroat report. The vehicle is an example, built so you can see finance, a write-off, a mileage drop and plate changes on one page. It is not a live lookup of the plate shown. Do not treat the sample car as a real history for that registration. For a live report, enter a real UK registration and buy the £6.99 pack.
